Creating culturally relevant, quality learning material for children in Khmer (Cambodian) language and English.

Who are we?
The Antipodes Collective was founded by Lauren Iida, a Seattleite whose first visit to Cambodia in 2008 led to years of working there as a social entrepreneur and volunteer.

Iida noticed a vast need for learning materials that were culturally relevant to the children using them. Due to the decimation of literary, visual, and performing arts by Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, there are  few Khmer-focused children's books available.

Connecting her Seattle arts community, and drawing on her own fine arts background, Iida founded The Antipodes Collective in 2014. The Antipodes Collective works with artists and illustrators from around the world to create high quality, culturally relevant learning materials for Cambodian students.

Together, we create quality learning materials to captivate, educate, and inspire children through the discovery of their own cultural traditions and the elevation of their own lives.
